National Archives (Kew) podcasts

The National Archives at Kew has two new podcasts online.

From Cotton Spinning to Coffins: Specifications for Patents of Invention by Vanessa Carr deals with drawings supplied as part of the patents process (can't help feeling some images on the website would help with this one!), as well as the patents process itself. Visit www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/podcasts/from-cotton-spinning-to-coffins.htm.

New Files from 1979 is basically a discussion by Mark Dunton on newly released files at TNA following the 30 year disclosure rule, which includes papers on the trade union strikes of 1979 and the new Thatcher administration. Visit www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/podcasts/new-files-from-1979.htm.

Additional podcasts on many useful historical and genealogical themes can be found at www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/podcasts/default.htm.
